Football Favored to Repeat as Coastal Champs

PINEHURST, N.C. — Reigning ACC Coastal Division champion Georgia Tech is favored to repeat as division winners, according to Tuesday’s poll of 158 media members in attendance at the 2015 ACC Football Kickoff.

Georgia Tech was selected to win the Coastal by 96 votes and finished with 991 total points, followed by Virginia Tech with 44 first-place votes and 841 points.

Clemson was picked over three-time defending ACC champion Florida State to capture the Atlantic Division. Clemson was picked as the likely overall ACC champion on 84 ballots, followed by Florida State (41) and Georgia Tech (20). Virginia Tech (7), North Carolina (3), Miami (2) and NC State (1) rounded out the balloting.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was voted the 2015 ACC Preseason Player of the Year with 69 votes, followed by Pitt’s James Conner with 46. Georgia Tech quarterback and 2014 Orange Bowl MVP Justin Thomas placed third with 13 votes.

Single game tickets for 2015 Georgia Tech football games will go on-sale to the general public on Friday, July 24, at 9 a.m. ET. Single-game tickets will be available for all home games except the matchup against Georgia on Nov. 28.
