Creating Sustainable Communities
Kick-Off Event
March 3rd, 4:30 – 6pm, Clough Commons
Serve·Learn·Sustain is Georgia Tech’s latest initiative designed to improve the undergraduate education experience by developing academic courses that combine community involvement with sustainability. The program, launching in 2016, will provide students with the opportunity to make service contributions based on their disciplinary expertise and to develop a deep understanding of the environmental, social and cultural impact of their profession. The program will engage all areas of Georgia Tech (students, faculty and staff), as well as student organizations, and community and corporate partners.
To begin creating student awareness about the Serve·Learn·Sustain program, a Kick-Off event will be held on March 3rd, from 4:30 – 6:00pm, in the Clough Commons atrium. The event will include an organization fair, giving student organizations related to community engagement and sustainability the opportunity to provide information to interested students. There will also be two Serve·Learn·Sustain information sessions in the auditorium, beginning at 4:45pm and 5:15pm. Each information session will include a short promotional video, a presentation and a Q & A session. Refreshments will be served and students will receive a Serve·Learn·Sustain t-shirt.
Space is limited and tables will be reserved on a first-come, first served basis.
