Campus Prepped for Final Home Football Matchup

Georgia Tech hosts the University of Georgia at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Nov. 28 at noon.

As the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets prepare for their last football game of the season this Saturday, the campus is preparing to host 55,000 fans for the annual celebration of “clean old-fashioned hate.”

Kickoff is set for noon for the 110th meeting of Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia and will be televised on ESPN2.

The game is sold out and, with an early kickoff time, Georgia Tech Athletics expects a crowded and condensed processional through security. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking and should familiarize themselves with stadium rules.

Techwood Drive will be shut down four hours prior to the start of the game. From 8 to 11 a.m., only pedestrians and parking pass holders will be permitted. No vehicles will be permitted one hour prior to kickoff.

The Georgia Tech Police Department (GTPD) will have additional officers in place in and around the stadium and will continue to monitor and coordinate with other local agencies on external threat information. Attendees should expect delays getting into the stadium due to enhanced security measures. GTPD encourages the campus community to report any suspicious activity and follow the department’s ongoing motto: “See Something? Say Something.” Campus police can be reached at 404-894-2500 or through the notification system in the LiveSafe app.
