Game Day Traffic Patterns to Impact Campus Thursday Afternoon

Street closures will take place around the stadium area.

The Georgia Tech Police Department is making every effort to minimize delays for faculty and staff leaving campus Thursday afternoon in advance of the Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech football game, which is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

As usual, Bobby Dodd Way from Techwood Drive to Fowler Street will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday. The campus entrance at Techwood Drive from North Avenue northbound will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. All other closures and typical game checkpoints will not be set up until between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

“We want to get people out with minimal delays,” said Sgt. Archie Hill of the Georgia Tech Police Department’s Special Events Unit. “We’re holding the streets open as long as we possible can before we implement the game day procedures.”
